Job Summary
On‑site position at the Prince William County Public Safety Facility in Manassas, VA. Candidate must live within commuting distance of Manassas, VA.
Responsibilities- Provides tailored technical customer operations support.
- Develops strategies for implementing operational efficiencies by reviewing workflows, procedures, and performance.
- Executes customer operations policies and procedures.
- Builds and maintains positive, effective, and mutually beneficial working alliances with customers.
- Initiates problem‑solving action and follows through to resolution.
- Performs root‑cause analysis of problems to formulate and recommend improved alternative operations.
- Leads process improvement initiatives.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT or Public Safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a high school diploma, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree (or 3+ years of experience in IT and Public Safety). Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by government customers.
Preferred Qualifications- 3+ years of IT or Public Safety experience.
- 3+ years of Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or System Maintenance experience (public safety system experience preferred).
- 3+ years of Public Safety Applications experience involving CAD/RMS/Mobile and other emergency 911 center equipment.
- Proven track record working with or deploying enterprise hardware and software solutions (HP preferred).
- Experience creating positive working relationships with customers and application end users.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced, demanding environment that requires multitasking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working both alone and in a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (MCSA/MCSE skills).
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, ODBC, and Ops Manager (SCOM).
- Experience with Public Safety Applications including CAD and Mobile.
- Experience with Virtualization software.
- Experience with Network Load Balancing (NLB) and Clustering.
- Experience with hardware blades and Storage Area Networks (SAN); HP preferred.
- Experience with firewalls and routers;
Fortigate preferred. - Familiarity with JavaScript, .NET, ESRI 10.X, and XML.
- Ability to troubleshoot application system issues including hardware, network, and third‑party components.
- Basic understanding of networking (socket connections, ports and hosts, etc.).
- Motorola Premier One CAD experience.
- Experience with GPS/AVL devices.
Salary range: $90,000 – $100,000 USD. Pay within this range varies and depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
