Network Install Technician, Infrastructure Delivery

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Network Install Technician, you will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers to ensure safety, security, and quality of telecommunications infrastructure across AWS data centers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Moving and implementing large enterprise equipment
• Installing fiber and copper cabling; patching cables between equipment
• Ensuring safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
• Following established hardware installation procedures and performing break‑fix activities
• Using material‑handling tools and equipment safely
• Traveling within and outside the regional work area as required

Physical requirements:

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Work in 24/7 environments with primary responder rotation; provide after-hours support as needed
• Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments; perform bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely

Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 2+ years of experience in computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Familiarity with major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
