Responsibilities and Scope
- Lead the operational oversight of the organization’s cyber incident response process to ensure response, mitigation, and remediation of cyber security incidents.
- Serve as part of the Incident Commanders team, providing 24x7x365 response support.
- Establish, document, maintain, and review processes and procedures, ensuring they remain relevant and reflect the criteria and goals of the organizational cyber incident process, aligned with industry best practices.
- Assist threat and incident response leadership with strategic planning to ensure proper staffing, tooling, and processes are in place to protect the organization from cyber attacks.
- Oversee the contracting and deployment of internal organizational resources in support of the incident response mission.
- Function as a subject‑matter‑expert resource in cyber incident response for a very large global organization operating within many regulatory jurisdictions.
- Ensure incident response processes remain best practice to limit risk to the organization.
- Assist in evaluating new tools and capabilities as they relate to incident response.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant information technology experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Willingly go through a security clearance process.
- Proficiency in risk management, compliance, and security technologies.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., GSEC, CEH, Cloud Security).
- Committed to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
- 5-10 years of cyber security experience, with 5 or more years of cyber incident response experience.
- Industry-leading expertise in cyber and IT security disciplines, including standards, risks, threats, and prevention strategies.
- Practical understanding of secure system architecture and large infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Practical experience with scripting languages and automation tooling.
- Expertise in networking, network security, and associated tools and products.
- In-depth knowledge of public key infrastructures and certificate/key management best practices.
- Experience in risk assessment and strategic security management.
- Ability to understand and articulate how a risk or vulnerability may affect a large global organization.
If you are within 25 miles of a DXC office, you are expected to work in a hybrid mode twice a week. The role is remote‑eligible outside of that radius but requires occasional onsite presence.
