Digital Identity Administrator (Info Technology Specialist II)
The Laurel Ridge Community College Department of Information Technology Services is seeking a Digital Identity Administrator to design and maintain a robust identity governance framework that safeguards institutional data while facilitating seamless user access. The role involves auditing and restructuring directory services (Active Directory / Entra ), developing automated provisioning workflows for core enterprise systems, and ensuring compliance with FERPA, GLBA, and HIPAA.
Responsibilities- Audit and redesign Active Directory and Entra to support automation and scalability.
- Work with SIS, AIS, Cardinal, WES and other VCCS ERP systems to design secure, automated provisioning and deprovisioning workflows.
- Implement role‑based access control (RBAC) models and translate business needs into technical policies.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Authenticator for identity governance.
- Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts for automation, reporting, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with ITSM tools such as Team Dynamix to integrate identity workflows.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on data privacy regulations and identity services.
- Support audit, compliance, and incident response activities related to identity and access.
- Assist the agency and state governments in emergency declarations and other special assignments.
- Proven experience designing RBAC models and implementing them in an enterprise environment.
- Hands‑on configuration experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Authenticator.
- Proficiency in Power Shell scripting for automation and reporting.
- Expert knowledge of Active Directory (AD DS) and Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
- Understanding of FERPA, GLBA, and HIPAA data‑privacy requirements in higher education.
- Experience with Rapid Identity or similar meta‑directory tools.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as Team Dynamix.
- Ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region.

Hiring Range: $67,858.00 – $98,394.00 (commensurate with competencies and experience) - Classification:
Staff (eligible for Commonwealth of Virginia benefits) - Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; may require travel to multiple campuses. - Travel:
Required for duties such as on‑site support and training. - Vehicle Operation:
