Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best‑in‑class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations, reviewing project forecasts, and ensuring physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.

job responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
  • Apply cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Use common networking terminology effectively.
  • Exercise excellent judgment and analytical skills, prioritizing tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
  • Manage core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of relevant discipline work experience.
  • 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong prioritization and time‑management skills.
  • Knowledge of networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.
  • High autonomy, detail orientation, strong written and verbal communication skills.
