Data Analytics Specialist

Job Overview

We are looking for a Data Analytics Specialist to join our Digital & Analytics Team in Herndon, VA.

• Serve as the regional focal point in the US, championing the adoption of analytics and automation tools, fostering awareness, facilitating collaboration, and supporting the organization’s transformation toward a data‑driven culture.
• Act as a coach and advisor to cross‑functional teams, guiding them on data quality improvement plans and supporting them in developing their own MVVs and analytics use cases.

• Engage with functional teams to understand end‑to‑end processes, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for improvement through data and emerging technologies.
• Design and deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to quickly test, validate, and address critical business challenges.

• Conduct in-depth data analysis and experimentation to uncover valuable business insights and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Translate analysis into actionable outcomes by developing automated tools, visual dashboards, reports, or workflows that enhance productivity and business value.

• Define and document data standards and governance policies in collaboration with domain experts to ensure consistency and integrity across the organization.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, algorithms, and industry best practices to provide technological insights and keep the team’s capabilities state‑of‑the‑art.

• Onsite or remote: 60% onsite
• Vision: able to see and read a screen and documents regularly.
• Hearing: able to hear conversations in person and via teleconference.
• Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings.
• Equipment operation: able to operate personal computers, telephone, and related office equipment.
• Carrying, lifting, and pushing/pulling: able to handle items up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
• Sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling: able to perform these activities for extended periods.
• Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice twice a year.
• Personal Protective Equipment: required as per site or customer site.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10% domestic and international travel.
• Authorized to work in the US.

• Ability to lead by example, inspire others, and act as a role model.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across cross‑functional teams.
• Business acumen and passion for solving real‑world operational challenges.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Robust coding abilities in Python.
• Experience with APIs, algorithms, and data structures.

• 3‑5 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a similar role within a complex business environment.
• Experience with Dev Ops tools, modern cloud stack, and practices.
