About the Role

We’re working with a well-established UK financial services organisation who are looking to bring in an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance their enterprise network environment.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining, optimising, and improving a complex network estate spanning on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. You’ll play a key role in both BAU operations and project delivery, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, manage, and optimise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Support and troubleshoot complex network issues, acting as an escalation point for major incidents
  • Design and implement network solutions across routing, switching, security, and connectivity
  • Maintain high availability and resilience across the network estate
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support network change activity in line with governance and security policies
  • Monitor and manage data centre and network environments including LAN, WAN, and wireless
  • Collaborate with wider infrastructure and IT teams to support projects and BAU delivery
  • Contribute to network documentation and operational best practices
Experience Required
  • Strong experience working within enterprise network environments
  • Cisco‑focused networking expertise (routing & switching, Nexus, enterprise‑grade infrastructure)
  • Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and network security technologies
  • Hands‑on experience with wireless networking (APs, controllers)
  • Experience supporting large‑scale network environments
  • Understanding of network design, architecture, and traffic flow
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes such as incident, change, and problem management
  • Ability to work under pressure and support multiple concurrent priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
  • CCNA (or equivalent certification)
  • Experience with cloud networking (Azure or hybrid environments)
  • Exposure to tools such as Cisco ISE, F5, or Checkpoint firewalls
  • Experience with automation or scripting (Power Shell/Python)
What’s on Offer
  • Hybrid working model
  • Strong focus on wellbeing, flexibility, and career development
  • Opportunity to work within a high‑performing, collaborative team
  • Exposure to modernisation and network transformation projects

If you’re a Network Engineer looking to work in a stable but forward‑moving environment with strong investment into infrastructure and people, this is a great opportunity to step into a visible and impactful role.
