Overview
Network Engineer — TS/SCI Full Scope Poly — Dulles, VA. The Network Engineer is responsible for developing, engineering, and deploying technical solutions within a community-wide, dedicated network. This individual will work within a small, focused team of network and systems engineers to implement technical solutions addressing challenging collaboration and data protection problems.
Responsibilities- Develop Datacenter, LAN, WAN, and Client Access networks/systems
- Integrate, Test, and deploy systems
- Perform full lifecycle management of network systems (building, deploying, maintaining)
- Monitor networks
Demonstrated skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, determine course of action and act promptly and effectively when problems arise.
- Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as well on collaborative teams.
- Maintain appropriate technical training to ensure skills are kept current with evolving technology
- Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of Project Management
- Ability to travel on an infrequent, but as needed basis, primarily CON US
- Recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on experience with Cisco Datacenter, WAN, LAN, Client Access technologies such as MACsec, HSRP, VRF, VPC, ACLs, BGP, EIGRP
- Recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on experience with IOS-XE, NX-OS, Linux
- Recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on experience with customer specific transport networks
- Recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on experience with Firewalls and VPN Concentrators (FTD and ASA)
- Recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on experience with Network and Application load balancers
- Hands-on experience implementing customer IT and Cyber Security best practices
- Recent (within the last 3 years) experience managing and delivering engineering projects, i.e., designing, building, deploying
- Recent (within the last 3 years) experience with provisioning and management of a variety of network devices
- Hands-on experience with collaboration and ticketing tools
- Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms
- Demonstrated understanding of high availability technologies and implantation/deployment concepts
