Mythics and Emergent are evolving from a transactional VAR into a platform-led cybersecurity advisory business. The Senior Director, Cyber Solutions & Engineering will lead the technical architecture and engineering strategy behind the organization's cybersecurity assessment offerings, agentic AI platform, and delivery capabilities across State and Local Government, Higher Education, Federal, Defense, and Commercial markets.

This leader will establish and scale the Cyber Engineering function, create reference architectures, define engineering standards, and transform advisory methodologies into repeatable, productized platform capabilities that drive recurring revenue. The role partners closely with sales enablement, consulting, delivery, and OEM alliance teams to align technical execution with strategic growth objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities Assessment Engineering
  • Translate advisory assessment methodologies, including Identity Threat Discovery, Active Exploit Exposure, Shadow AI & Non-Human Identity, and Cyber Baseline, into repeatable, tooling-enabled delivery capabilities.
  • Build the engineering foundation that converts fixed-fee assessments into recurring, subscription-based platform revenue.
  • Architect telemetry normalization, analytics, and reporting capabilities that clearly communicate client risk and security posture.
Platform & Architecture Leadership
  • Own the technical architecture for the organization's agentic AI security platform, including multi-agent orchestration, data pipelines, and cloud-native deployment across Azure and AWS.
  • Define enterprise reference architectures, engineering guardrails, deployment standards, and platform design principles.
  • Advance platform capabilities and roadmap initiatives that support compliance readiness for public sector and regulated market customers.
Governance & Executive Engagement
  • Establish AI governance practices, including acceptable use standards, data classification, data loss prevention (DLP), and shadow AI controls.
  • Deliver executive-level technical, risk, and security posture briefings to leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Partner with OEM alliances to integrate best-of-breed solutions across identity, deception, non-human identity, and adjacent cybersecurity domains.
Team & Function Building
  • Establish and scale the Cyber Engineering function, including operating models, team charters, hiring plans, and delivery frameworks.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Implement modern delivery practices and operational disciplines, including Kanban-based workflows and executive reporting mechanisms.
  • Modernize legacy approaches and introduce innovative methodologies, technologies, and strategic partnerships to address evolving cyber threats.
Other Duties

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise security programs with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success establishing security functions from the ground up, including operating models, governance structures, and multi-year strategic roadmaps.
  • Deep expertise in cloud security architectures across Azure and AWS environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures, SIEM/SOAR platforms, Dev Sec Ops  practices, and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
  • Experience with security data engineering, including telemetry normalization frameworks such as OCSF, data lakes, and AI/ML-driven analytics.
  • Experience leading portfolio rationalization and cybersecurity cost optimization initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate complex security risks and investment priorities to executive and board-level audiences.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks including NIST CSF, NIST SP 800‑53, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in consulting, cybersecurity advisory services, value-added reseller (VAR) organizations, or platform-based technology businesses.
  • Experience supporting State and Local Government, Higher Education, Federal, Defense, and Commercial sectors.
  • Exposure to agentic AI, non-human identity, and shadow AI security domains.
  • CISSP or equivalent advanced cybersecurity certification.
