A Buyer Direct will support the procurement of direct materials, components, and equipment in Henrico, VA, reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and place orders for raw materials and purchased parts.
• Receive and handle confirmations, review purchase orders and modify them according to production changes.
• Track shipments, follow up as needed, and weekly check stocks to avoid overstock.
• Minimize obsolescence risk through weekly obsolete report reviews.
• Correspond with freight forwarders, warehouses, and coordinate transportation.
• Handle claims, settle debit and credit issues, and file necessary documents.
• Check inventory of critical materials, resolve discrepancies with warehouse personnel.
• Review requisitions and MRP output; confer with vendors for price, availability, and delivery.
• Order, reschedule, and cancel material based on requisitions and MRP output.
• Maintain procurement records, reports, and metrics; conduct quarterly supplier reviews.
• Escalate supplier performance issues and manage price, delivery, and quality expectations.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience.
• Experience with electrical commodities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP software (e.g., Kinaxis, Atlas).
