Vice President of Delivery (Construction)
Responsible for executing the delivery strategy for Ada’s construction development in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Leverages strategic oversight and hands‑on leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations while aligning with Ada’s technical, commercial, and operational objectives.
The TeamThe Delivery team manages scope, schedule, budget, and risk mitigation throughout construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations. It collaborates closely with Development, Design, Sales, Finance, Operations, EHS, ESG, and represents Delivery leadership in customer and executive engagements.
Responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the data center construction program, including tender/contractor selection, construction and power delivery, LLE purchase and delivery, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
- Lead, develop, and manage resource allocation of a high‑performing delivery team with internal and external members.
- Establish and continuously refine delivery processes, governance, and controls to support scalable execution.
- Ensure construction activities follow Ada’s core requirements and all regional, site‑specific, and regulatory EHS requirements (permitting, environmental plans, job hazard analysis).
- Champion a proactive safety culture by setting clear expectations, leading by example, and ensuring safety is a core value.
- Collaborate with Development, Design, and Project Controls to ensure constructability, cost certainty, and schedule integrity, identifying cost optimization and prefabrication opportunities.
- Own delivery‑related financial outcomes, including capital budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, PO/invoice review, and facilitation of vendor onboarding (NDA’s, GPAs, SOWs).
- Support Sales in leasing pursuits, construction‑specific RFP responses, lease‑driven requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Report regularly to executive leadership on project status, risks, opportunities, and performance metrics using P6 and Procore as primary data sources.
- Ensure lessons learned and continuous improvement are incorporated at each project stage.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience delivering complex, capital‑intensive construction projects with at least 5+ years in leadership/management.
- Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale CSA and MEP‑intensive programs; data center or mission‑critical facilities experience required.
- Proven ability to manage complex construction projects with geographically distributed SME support teams.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing large capital budgets and contractual risk.
- Deep understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and delivery models.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments with evolving priorities.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate and influence across functions and with external partners and customers.
