Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Advocacy, the Senior Associate Dean and Director of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity (SCAI) serves as a senior leader within the Dean of Student Advocacy Office, providing strategic direction and oversight for all functions of the university’s Student Conduct and Honor Systems.

Responsibilities- Reports directly to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Advocacy.
- Serves as a member of the Dean of Student Advocacy Leadership Team.
- Serves as a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
- Participates in divisional committees to advance strategic goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Advocacy and the Vice President of Student Affairs.
- Prepares reports, conducts assessments, delivers presentations, and provides data to the VCU Cabinet as requested.
- Serves on the Dean of Students on-call rotation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or a related discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in higher education, specifically with student and academic integrity.
- Experience providing high-level leadership and oversight within student affairs or student conduct environments.
- Knowledge of current trends in Student Conduct, Academic Integrity, Clery, Title IX, Hazing, and Restorative Justice.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data‑driven decision‑making, and developing standard operating procedures.
- Proven ability to lead and supervise teams, particularly in student advocacy or related functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including campus leadership and external partners.
- Ability to cultivate partnerships and collaborative efforts both internally and externally to enhance the effectiveness of the office.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a member of VCU.
- JD, PhD, Doctorate or other terminal degree in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or a related discipline.
- Leadership experience in developing, implementing, or advancing restorative justice initiatives.
- Familiarity with emerging practices including Artificial Intelligence in student affairs.
- Experience managing and navigating departmental rebranding initiatives.
- Skilled in issue resolution and active listening.
- Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data to inform stakeholders.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
