Job Description
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Under the general guidance and direction of the Head Librarian, the Access Services Manager supervises and manages the daily operations of Access Services including all circulation functions for all full-time and part-time classified staff members and student assistants at the Parham Campus Library.
This position provides a full range of paraprofessional library services that require a high level of decision-making and independence, utilizing general knowledge of library practices.
The Access Services Manager supports the library’s strategic priority to collaborate internally and externally to make equity-conscious decisions and develop data-informed strategic plans to maximize impact at the college, group, and individual levels. The position is committed to meeting students where they are without judgment and providing support that promotes equity and success.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of library organizations, procedures and statistical reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise campus library operations and team projects, staff schedules & calendar management.
- Demonstrated ability to train and direct the work of others independently.
- Considerable experience in providing a high level of customer service with external and internal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize an integrated library system.
- Considerable working knowledge of library functions and advanced level skills in areas that involve access services like interlibrary loan, management of loan life cycle, and collections maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to assist patrons in locating information in print & electronic formats.
