Role: Lead / General Superintendent – Heavy Civil & Site Development

The BusinessFa Global has been exclusively retained to identify a Lead/General Superintendent for a highly established, vertically integrated heavy civil contractor. This is a business built on operational control and direct execution; they self-perform over 70% of their projects utilizing their own extensive equipment fleet and in-house personnel. This capability gives their field leadership the resources and autonomy needed to drive major projects without heavy reliance on subcontractors.
TheProject & Role
This is a strategic, key hire for the business. You will step in to lead all field operations on a complex, $200m mission-critical project based in VA.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will be the senior authority on the ground. You will oversee the entire site preparation and infrastructure phase, directly managing a team of four Superintendents to ensure the project is executed safely, on schedule, and to exact specifications.
Core Responsibilities & Required Experience- Heavy Civil Expertise: A deep, proven background directing large-scale site preparation, heavy earthworks, paving, and asphalt crews.
- Project Scale: Demonstrated experience leading field operations on high-value, complex site developments, specifically operating in the $100m+ range.
- Team Leadership: Strong track record of managing, organizing, and mentoring multiple Superintendents (oversight of 4 Superintendents required for this specific project).
- Self-Perform Environment: High proficiency in managing a vertically integrated, self-performing workforce and maximizing the efficiency of an internal equipment fleet.
- Executive Reporting: Full accountability for field logistics, schedule adherence, and quality control, serving as the primary bridge between the site and the VP of Operations.
