Operations Manager, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
Our client is a global manufacturer of engineered electronic products. With operations spanning multiple continents and a reputation for delivering mission‑critical products, they are seeking a transformational operations leader to drive the next phase of growth and operational excellence within one of their key North American manufacturing facilities.
This is not a maintenance role. The organization is looking for a leader who can assess the current state of the operation, build scalable processes, develop high‑performing teams, and position the business for significant growth over the coming years.
Position OverviewReporting to executive leadership, this individual will assume full operational responsibility for a manufacturing operation that designs, builds, and supports sophisticated electronic and communication‑based products. The successful candidate will serve as the senior operational leader for the site, overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision and hands‑on operational leadership, with proven experience leading electronics manufacturing environments, managing global manufacturing partnerships, and driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, delivery performance, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership for plant operations, manufacturing performance, and operational strategy.
- Lead and develop managers across production, supply chain, quality, engineering, and supporting functions
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives throughout the organization.
- Improve throughput, capacity utilization, inventory management, and on‑time delivery performance.
- Partner closely with global leadership teams to align operational objectives and growth strategies
- Oversee global contract manufacturing and outsourced production relationships.
- Establish metrics, KPIs, and accountability systems that support sustainable growth.
- Support new product introductions and operational scaling initiatives.
- Build succession plans and strengthen leadership capability throughout the organization
- Drive a culture focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience leading operations within electronics manufacturing, industrial technology, communications equipment, control systems, safety systems, or related engineered products.
- Demonstrated success managing outsourced manufacturing and global contract manufacturing relationships.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and collaborating with international operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven record of leading organizational transformation, operational turnarounds, or significant growth initiatives.
- Experience managing operations with full financial accountability, including budgets, forecasting, and performance metrics.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
