Production Manager, Operations Engineer
Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Production Planning Manager located in Henrico, VA. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Management, the Production Planning Manager will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule.
Typical Day- Develop and manage production forecast based on master plan, timelines, material needs in order to define production requirements based on plant capacity, which are aligned with company goals.
- Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, communicating updates to all relevant parties and ensuring material supplies are able to meet the changes.
- Produce revenue investigation and annual operating (AOP) plan and other forecast reports.
- Conduct special studies and investigations relating to the introduction of new products or processes to effect cost reduction and give improvements.
- Report on the production status and any production issues to upper management.
- Liaise with operation team to resolve daily production line disruptions and productivity issues.
- Lead the development and implementation of the company’s production control functions, including Master Scheduling, Production Planning/Coordination, Shop Scheduling, and Dispatching.
- Develop material planning models to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions for customer programs.
- Utilize models for defining material planning parameters for components.
- Approve quantities, schedules, and parts list provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt, and issuance of production material requirements.
- Maintain reports to reflect scheduling, methods, hold-up performance, and process procedures.
- Interface with customers to ensure delivery commitments are met and with subordinates, functional peer group managers, and senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, engineering, business or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years progressive responsibility in production control and planning or related area, including supervision.
- Experience leading a team for at least 3-5 years.
- Experience with SAP or any ERP, MRP systems.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (nice to have).
