Team Lead - Assembly
Location:
South Chesterfield, VA
- Responsible for leading and directing manufacturing teams.
- Manage safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC) and lean responsiveness.
- Conduct daily board (huddle group) team meetings focused on area performance.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Analyze and resolve work problems using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process.
- Perform activities of workers in the group as a backup.
- Prepare and execute daily start‑up plans.
- Update, implement, and maintain cross‑functional training matrix.
- Participate with manufacturing engineering in assuring on‑time delivery to customers or other departments through Kaizen processes.
- Conduct continuous level load scheduling.
- Coordinate material scheduling and kitting to assure no shortages to the lines.
- Maintain 6S throughout the shift and operator PM checklists.
- Implement and sustain standard work procedures and practices as a key activity, also sustaining visual boards and controls.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers.
- Maintain efficiency levels to 90% or better.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Over 3 years of related experience.
- Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and basic AS400 or similar system knowledge.
- 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- AS400 experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50% of the shift.
- Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours per day as needed per production area.
- Ability to make repetitive motions on the machine up to 40% of the shift.
