Electrical Commissioning Manager – Data Center Construction About the Client
A leading mission critical construction and electrical contractor delivering large-scale hyperscale data center projects is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager. The organization specializes in complex, high-density environments where reliability, redundancy, and uptime are critical.
About the Role- Leading end-to-end electrical commissioning activities on hyperscale data center projects
- Managing commissioning plans for MV/LV distribution systems, UPS, generators, switch gear, and PDUs
- Coordinating with construction teams, design consultants, and client commissioning agents
- Developing commissioning scripts, procedures, and testing protocols (Cx Level 1–5)
- Overseeing energization, startup, and integrated systems testing
- Ensuring all electrical systems meet design intent, specifications, and reliability standards
- Managing FATs, SATs, and functional performance testing
- Tracking commissioning progress, issues, and closeout documentation
- Coordinating outage planning and energization sequencing
- Enforcing safety protocols during high-risk electrical commissioning activities
- Leading commissioning meetings and reporting progress to stakeholders
- Supporting turnover and final handover documentation
- 3–7+ years’ experience in electrical commissioning within mission critical or large-scale commercial environments
- Strong understanding of data center electrical infrastructure (UPS, generators, MV systems, switch gear)
- Experience with commissioning processes (Cx Level 1–5) and integrated systems testing
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and sequence of operations
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and relevant electrical safety standards
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and equipment manufacturers
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in live environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage complex commissioning schedules and documentation
- Willingness to travel and work in active construction environments
