As a Material Handler, you’ll play an important role in keeping production moving by safely handling materials, supporting machine operations, and ensuring quality lumber products are processed efficiently.

Ideal candidates have experience in sawmill, lumber, pallet, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, farming, production, shipping, light industrial, assembly, equipment operation environments, or in similar areas.

Experience with material handling, sorting lumber, conveyors, machine centers, forklifts, or production equipment is a plus.

This is a great opportunity for hands-on workers who enjoy a team environment and want to build on their existing skills while growing within a manufacturing operation.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position. Overtime, weekends, and schedule flexibility may be required based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities
* Sort and grade lumber according to size, quality, and production standards.
* Stack lumber safely and remove damaged or defective materials.
* Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
* Help maintain a steady flow of materials throughout production.
* Report quality, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisors.
* Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and safe equipment practices.
* Work closely with machine operators, forklift drivers, and production team members.
* Perform other duties as needed to support daily sawmill operations.

Required Qualifications
* Some experience in similar work is required.
* Safely work in a fast-paced sawmill or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
* Follow instructions, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively as part of a team.
* Reliable attendance and willingness to learn new skills.
* Previous experience in sawmill, lumber, pallet, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, farming, or equipment operation preferred.
* Experience with material handling, lumber sorting, conveyors, machine centers, or production equipment a plus.
* Basic knowledge of lumber quality, defects, waste separation, or production flow preferred.
* Forklift or equipment operation experience preferred.
* Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment This position works in an industrial sawmill environment with exposure to noise, sawdust, moving equipment, lumber, forklifts, weather conditions, and varying temperatures. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, bend, twist, push, pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
