Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain control of the conversion of caprolactam through hydrolysis and polymerization, extrusion, leaching, drying, finishing, blending and packaging
  • Maintain control of multiple utility systems to support the operation areas
  • Monitor control information for an area and make adjustments as necessary to operate equipment and facilities, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures
  • Maintain safety standards at all times and initiate and follow emergency procedures when necessary
  • Prevent spills and adhere to environmental protection commitments
  • Perform minor maintenance work
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical or science related field
  • Willing and able to work 8‑hour rotating shift, including holidays, weekends and required overtime
  • Proficiency with a computer, including Word and Excel
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team‑oriented work style
  • Meet minimum physical requirements needed to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3–5 years chemical plant experience
  • Experience operating from Distributed Control Systems in a control room
  • Understanding of a multi‑step chemical process
  • Lab sample testing experience
  • Forklift operating experience
  • Strong work ethic and adaptability to new processes
  • Ability to create and maintain a safe workplace based on company standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action in an industrial setting
  • Ability to communicate across multiple layers of an organization
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs, and exert up to 75 lbs pull
  • Wear protective equipment for extended periods such as hard hats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, hot suits, etc.
  • Work with hazardous materials
  • Work alone and in isolated areas, around hot surfaces and high temperatures
  • Work at elevated heights greater than 50 feet, and in confined spaces with appropriate PPE
  • Work on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces and in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.)
Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $26.14. The pay range, incentives and benefits listed above are general guidelines only and not a guarantee of total compensation or benefits. The final offer will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to the responsibilities of the job, experience, education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as job location, collective bargaining agreements, length of service, internal equity and market data.
