Engineering Technician VI – Dahlgren, VA
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop new test procedures and measurement techniques
- Conduct tests and experiments to prove or disprove design feasibility
- Gather and maintain records of engineering data (tests, drawings, etc.); perform computations, plot data, and draw simple curves and graphs
- Respond to and track issued work tickets
- Support facility, assets, and equipment to maintain, repair, modify, replace, and upgrade
- May provide work leadership for lower level employees; design and construct major units and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED with seven (7) years of full-time professional Engineering Technician experience
- Substitution options:
- Four (4) years additional experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree
- Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years additional experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of major military systems
- Experience developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in R&D, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance; assist engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and data collection
- Experience following user manuals and maintenance documentation; reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and system schematics
Must hold and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
Work ArrangementHybrid work may be possible, but travel and in-office or on-site support are required as dictated by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.
