The Youth Engagement Coordinator VISTA of DC has the perfect opportunity to take our current youth programming to the next level, adding in sustainability through new programming like STEM, music, and sports; effective volunteer engagement and management; and additional community partners. Along with the DC staff, you will build capacity for a more sustainable year-long program. Perfect for those interested in youth programming, STEM or music initiatives, volunteer engagement, and program management.

In the DC Metro Area, we serve an average of 70,000 people a year through housing for young mothers, meal programs, youth and music activities, substance abuse treatment, rent and utility assistance, and more.
We value programs that help expand personal and professional horizons, such as our internship program and Ameri Corps VISTA.
- Assess community resources available for youth programming, build relationships with partners and reach potential new families who could benefit from Salvation Army programs. Plan community engagement actions and recruit volunteers
- Research, develop and design year-long program for youth with a STEM-track, a music and music theory track, and a sports track; all geared for different age levels from 3-15 years old
- Create strong relationships with local universities, including but not limited to Howard University. Develop a mutually beneficial partnership
