International Rescue Committee Ops & Development VISTA

The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our Ameri Corps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.

Serve your community and develop your professional skills through a year of service with Ameri Corps VISTA! In this hybrid position, the International Rescue Committee’s Operations and Development VISTA will build capacity by increasing the IRC’s capacity by developing private‑sector resources and strengthening internal policies and procedures to create a sustainable foundation for the future. The Member will develop new grant opportunities, design and model new engagement and development procedures, coordinate and identify areas for improvement in the Contributions in Kind (CIK) program, and strengthen policies and procedures around security and staff transitions.

The right fit for this position will be self‑driven and highly motivated individuals with a passion for serving their communities through capacity building efforts such as grant writing, development, and office operations.
