The Augusta region includes the JA Discovery Center, which serves approximately 15,000 students annually through immersive learning experiences supported by extensive volunteer and community partnerships.
Position Summary
The Director serves as the primary relationship manager for corporate, civic, philanthropic, and community partners throughout the Augusta region. This role develops and stewards’ strategic partnerships that advance Junior Achievement's mission by generating volunteer engagement, philanthropic investment, sponsor ships, and community visibility. Through a relationship-centered approach, the Director identifies opportunities to deepen partner engagement across volunteerism, fundraising, special events, and regional initiatives while ensuring an exceptional partner experience.
Working collaboratively with Development, Volunteer Partnerships, Brand Strategy, and JA Discovery Center operations, the Director serves as a key ambassador for Junior Achievement and plays an integral role in sustaining and growing the Augusta market.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and manage partnerships to recruit, engage, and retain approximately 2,500 volunteers annually in support of JA programs in Augusta: JA Biz Town, JA Finance Park, JA Finance Park Advance.
- Efficiently manage, plan and track volunteer need to ensure ideal coverage for JA programs throughout the school year.
- Develop and execute volunteer custom recruitment strategies to ensure program fulfillment and high-quality volunteer experiences working with companies, colleges, school and community partners.
- Collaborate and develop effective communication process with Operations team to align volunteer resources with organizational and regional needs.
- Communication effectively to different constituent groups and key partner contacts volunteer event logistics and volunteer strategies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills while managing volunteer groups and individuals.
- Plan best-in-class yearly Volunteer Champion event to strengthen volunteer partnerships in Augusta region.
- Maintain volunteer data, reporting, and tracking systems in accordance with organizational standards.
- Steward a portfolio of existing donors, including corporate, individual, and institutional donors.
- Codify and implement an individual giving donor engagement strategy.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships, donations, and sponsor ships aligned with JA’s mission and revenue priorities.
- Collaborate across internal teams to ensure strong partner engagement across programming, events, and volunteer initiatives.
- Ensure Junior Achievement Discovery Center located in Evans, is fully sponsored by corporations, businesses, foundations, individuals, and community organizations.
- Monitor partnership outcomes, fundraising progress, and event performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Development and Development Team on fundraising initiatives and donor engagement strategies.
Lead Signature Event – JA Greater Augusta Business Hall of Fame
In partnership with Development and Brand Strategy leadership:
- Support planning and execution of the JA Greater Augusta Business Hall of Fame and other regional fundraising initiatives.
- Lead identification of sponsorship solicitation, table sales, donor outreach, and fundraising efforts for the JA Greater Augusta Business Hall of Fame Gala.
- Track event progress, revenue, and post-event evaluation metrics to support continuous improvement and long-term partner retention.
Corporate & Community Engagement
- Represent JA at corporate, civic, and community events in the Augusta area region to build relationships, raise visibility, and expand reach.
- Leverage volunteer partnerships as pathways to deeper philanthropic and strategic engagement when appropriate.
- Conduct outreach and relationship-building to secure sponsor ships, donations, and new community volunteer partnerships.
- Position JA proactively within the community and anticipate emerging funding and partnership trends.
