Position Details

  • Position Title:Nurse Supervisor

  • Reports To:Nursing Director

  • Supervisory Responsibility:Recovery Room Nurses

  • Schedule:40 hours a week with varying hours depending on coverage needs. Occasional weekend work will be required.

  • Location:On-site

  • Travel:Travel to health centers may be required to provide RN coverage and staff training. Travel will be within the PPSAT service area of NC, SC, and VA

  • Licensure Requirement:Active RN compact license with the ability to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Nursing Director in recruiting, onboarding, training, and evaluating nursing staff.

  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and coaching to support staff development and clinical excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational protocols, patient rights, HIPAA requirements, OSHA standards, and safety procedures.

  • Provide direct nursing care, including recovery room coverage and support during abortion and medical procedures.

  • Administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and complete required clinical documentation.

  • Respond to medical emergencies and support providers during procedures and emergency situations.

  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, emergency drills, and staff meetings.

  • Support after-hours and daytime patient emergency call systems, documenting interactions appropriately in the EMR/EHR.

  • Provide North Carolina state-mandated informed consent for abortion services in accordance with state law.

  • Assist with maintaining inventory, emergency equipment logs, and a clean, safe patient care environment.

  • Serve as Nursing Director designee when needed.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Active RN compact license with the ability to practice in NC, SC, and VA.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in abortion services.

  • Experience in a GYN setting.

  • Emergency Room (ER) experience.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Compensation Transparency

PPSAT is committed to equitable and transparent pay practices. This position is aligned within our established pay structure, with an annual salary range of $69,000–$89,000. Starting salary will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity.
