Responsibilities- Plan, direct, control supervise and coordinate all Nursing Service activities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs
- Assign nursing tasks and ensure proper staffing levels
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to nursing staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions if necessary
- Ensure staff compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee the delivery of nursing care to residents/patients, ensuring it meets professional standards
- Review patient care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, social workers) to coordinate care
- Monitor patients’ health status and intervene as needed to manage acute or chronic conditions
- Respond to emergencies and provide direct nursing care when necessary
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, OSHA, state health departments)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and infection control programs
- Maintain accurate and thorough nursing records and reports
- Implement and monitor adherence to patient safety protocols
- Prepare staffing schedules and manage shift coverage
- Handle communication between nursing staff and administration
- Participate in facility committees and meetings
- Manage documentation related to patient care and nursing operations
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and medical providers
- Address and resolve patient or family concerns related to nursing care
- Facilitate effective communication within the nursing team and across departments
- Current State of Virginia RN license
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in Geriatrics
- In-Service Education
- CPR certification required upon hire or willing to obtain
