Job Overview

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Emergency Room, is hiring a Manager, ED to supervise and manage 24‑hour operations.

Days

The Manager, ED is responsible for daily 24/7 operations of one or more clinical areas. Duties include supervising patient care staff, coordinating quality and customer service activities, assisting with budget development and monitoring, coordinating purchasing and payroll, serving as a technical/clinical resource, performing necessary work assignments, and mentoring staff.

• 3 years Acute Care Experience
• Previous Supervisory Experience

• Virginia or Compact Multi‑State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
• ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire

• RN‑Bachelor’s Degree
• RN‑Master’s Degree

Master's Level Degree preferred.

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center’s Emergency Department is a 37‑bed facility designated as a Level III Trauma Center and a certified Primary Stroke Center. The department treats a wide range of acute and emergent patients across all ages, including specialties in respiratory, cardiac, septic, and behavioral health. The department is Magnet with Distinguished, Active Nurse Practice Council.
