Position SummaryThe QA/SDC/IP Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing quality improvement initiatives, coordinating staff education and training, and leading infection prevention and control programs. This role collaborates closely with nursing leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
Quality Assurance (QA)- Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes, quality indicators, and performance metrics
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CMS, state, and facility policies)
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct orientation for new hires
- Develop and deliver ongoing education and in-service training programs
- Maintain training records and ensure staff meet competency requirements
- Support clinical skill development and professional growth of nursing staff
- Oversee the facility’s infection prevention and control program
- Track, trend, and report infections in accordance with CDC and CMS guidelines
- Educate staff on infection control practices and protocols
- Lead infection control audits and implement prevention strategies
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (long-term care/SNF experience preferred)
- Experience in infection prevention, staff education, or quality assurance strongly preferred
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, QAPI, and infection control standards
