Location:

Haynesville Correctional Center, Richmond County, Virginia.

• Provide nursing care to adult institutional patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementing, evaluating) in accordance with standards of practice.
• Deliver 24‑hour nursing care and support via telemedicine, chronic care clinics, sick‑call screenings/triage, medication administration, patient education, and basic life support/emergency care.
• Document all pertinent information in the health record, maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with other departments as needed.
• Delegate nursing tasks, manage workload, and adhere to assigned hours, days, and locations.
• Provide coverage as required to meet institutional needs.
• Promote evidence‑based nursing care and maintain competence through education and certification with a focus on correctional nursing.
• Accept assignments to other duties or locations as required by the department.

• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing program.
• Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Virginia RN license or an applicable multi‑state compact license (or have an NCLEX‑RN exam scheduled if a recent graduate).
• Hold current Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) at hire.

Experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment is preferred.
