Job Overview

We are looking for a Nursing Associate for the Birthplace unit at Essentia Virginia Hospital (Department: 2083290). The role is responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the full nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The associate delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. The associate contributes to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health and complies with the Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Additionally, the associate coordinates lactation education and support within the nursing division.

• Organize and deliver nursing care to patients through the nursing process.
• Delegate care responsibilities to qualified nursing personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Essentia Health’s mission, goals, and all applicable accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate lactation education and support activities.

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Maternal‑Child Care experience preferred.
• Current nursing licensure in the state(s) of employment.
• BCLS certification within one month of employment.
• NRP certification within one year of employment.

• 48 hours per pay period.
• Every third weekend.
• Rotating 12‑hour shifts:
  Day Shift 7:00AM – 7:30PM;
  Overnight Shift 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
• Call obligation block: 71A.

Base pay range: $42.97 – $62.00 per hour.
