Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 3 South Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a Full Time position. Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates!

Hours:

6:45PM to 7:15AM with rotating weekend schedule.

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke & IMCU Unit, the 3 South unit provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‑ and post‑catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke. This 24‑bed unit cares for patients with higher acuity than a typical medical‑surgical unit.

• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care for patients in Acute Cardiac/Stroke & IMCU care.

• Monitor vitals, cardiac rhythms, and post‑interventional status.

• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding cardiac and stroke recovery.

• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and contribute to patient care plans.

These responsibilities support the unit’s critical care environment and high‑acuity patient population.

Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Programs at Sentara:

• Unique 6‑Month Program; automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Certification/Licensure:
  Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License (BLS within 90 days of hire, ACLS within 1 year of hire, NIH within 1 year of hire).
• Acute care nursing experience preferred; background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred.
• New Graduate RNs considered.
