ResponsibilitiesThe Nursing Department provides 24-hour direct care services to geropsychiatric patients. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and/or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning. This nursing care goal is achieved in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Utilize nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders and physical, psychological and social needs of the psychiatric patient.
Skills in delegating nursing activities, supervising and counseling nursing employees. Demonstrates competency as defined on Competency Assessment.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records.
- Virginia State Board of Registered Nursing License.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Prefer bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Considerable Psychiatric and/or geriatric experience is preferred.
- Med-surg nursing experience is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Long Term Care and Nursing Home Experience is preferred.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records.
