CRNAs at Essentia Health – Virginia administer anesthesia to patients of all ages. The role involves anesthesia services in the operating room, on obstetrics, and throughout the hospital as requested. Requires high customer‑service skills and clear communication to enhance positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.

This rural anesthesia practice provides a mixed medical model of medically directed and independent practice opportunities. Call is covered independently with one CRNA.

• 5 operating room suites and 1 OB unit operating room for C‑sections.
• Salaried 8‑hour day shift plus 24‑hour call.
• CRNA call coverage:
  Monday‑Friday 15:30‑07:00, Saturday‑Sunday 07:00‑07:00, 20‑minute callback window for emergencies.
• Approximately 1:6 call ratio.
• Self‑scheduled call days.
• Labor analgesia service with ~250 deliveries per year.
• Specialties include general, orthopedic, ENT, podiatry, gastroenterology, OB/Gyn, and ophthalmology.

• Graduate from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
• Seek ongoing professional educational growth.

• RN license in the state of Minnesota.
• Certified by the NBCRNA.
• Maintain current licensure requirements for CRNA practice.

• Knowledgeable of principles and methods of general, regional, sedation, and local anesthetics.
• Demonstrate competency in clinical responsibilities.
• Ability to function and maintain composure in stressful and emergent situations.
• Clear, thorough, and appropriate verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and other disciplines.
