Job Duties- $7,500 sign‑on bonus or up to $10,000 student loan repayment may be available for eligible new hires.
- Provide nursing care within adult institutions using the complete nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Deliver 24‑hour nursing care, telemedicine, chronic care clinics, sick call screenings/triage, medication administration, patient education, and basic life support/emergency care.
- Document all pertinent information in the health record while maintaining confidentiality and interfacing with other departments as needed.
- Delegate tasks, adjust workload, and provide coverage to meet institutional needs.
- Promote continued competence through education and certification focused on correctional nursing.
- Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
This is a full‑time position with an annual salary range of $83,496 - $107,023.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid unrestricted Virginia RN license. Recent graduates without licensure must schedule their NCLEX‑RN exam at the time of application.
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers, current certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required upon hire.
- Experience in a correctional setting.
