Build specialized clinical skills while playing an essential role in the safety, efficiency, and success of endoscopic procedures at UVA Health
. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will work alongside physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and fellow technicians to support high-quality care across both outpatient and hospital-based environments.

This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, values precision, and wants to develop expertise in a fast‑paced procedural setting.
No endoscopy certification is required upon hire. The team provides structured orientation, specialty training, and ongoing educational support to help you succeed.

Endoscopy Technicians are vital procedural partners who help ensure that providers have the equipment, supplies, and technical support needed throughout examinations and interventions. You will rotate between direct procedure support and scope reprocessing responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to develop a versatile clinical skill set.

Technicians work across two locations. The Monroe Lane outpatient setting supports stable outpatient procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, while the Main Hospital provides exposure to inpatient and outpatient populations, bronchoscopies, interventional procedures, and more complex cases. This variety offers meaningful exposure to both routine and advanced procedural care

  • Anticipate provider and team needs while maintaining an organized procedural environment.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, CRNAs, anesthesia providers, and other members of the procedural care team.
  • Follow established safety, infection prevention, and equipment handling procedures.
  • Participate in shared weekend and holiday on‑call coverage.

The schedule consists of four 10‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday
, providing an additional day away from work each week. Successful team members bring strong attention to detail, clear communication, initiative, adaptability, and a team‑first mindset. Previous endoscopy, Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, procedural, or patient‑care experience is valuable, but endoscopy‑specific equipment and reprocessing skills can be developed through training
.
