Park Caretaker

Do you have experience with the maintenance of turf, athletic fields, landscape, and parks? Do you enjoy working outside no matter the weather? Can you follow instructions and have a “will do” attitude? Do you enjoy working with a team to provide a safe and beautiful park/grounds environment?

The Prince William County Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a qualified applicant to perform responsible semi‑skilled work under regular supervision in a variety of grounds maintenance and repair assignments in parks, schools, and selected public facilities. This position will mow, trim, fill/grade, seed, and sod damaged turfgrass areas; assist in repairing irrigation systems; and assist licensed applicators with the application of turf care products.

The incumbent will groom baseball and softball infields; layout and line athletic fields; and assist with the construction and installation of pitching mounds, base anchors, and goals. This position would be responsible for the proper use and care of assigned equipment, vehicles, and tools.
