Our team is filled with compassionate coworkers who are smart, funny, and eager to learn. We are open 8:00 - 5:00, Monday through Friday, and half a day on Saturdays. We are located in a rural area of coastal VA (think beaches, fishing, kayaking, long walks on wooded trails).

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinarian to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for veterinary medicine and client education, excellent diagnostic and clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient and client care. As a Veterinarian at Eastern Shore Animal Hospital, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment with a great culture.

We are looking for someone who will take an active role in staff empowerment, who communicates well with coworkers and clients, and who embraces Fear Free Handling of pets. We are 100% welcoming to a New Grad.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive veterinary care for both wellness services and urgent care including examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with pet owners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and education.
  • Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and integrate new knowledge into practice.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state veterinary license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with a commitment to high‑quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in general practice is preferred, but recent graduates are welcome to apply.
