Materials Buyer– Surrey

A new opportunity has just opened up for a Materials Buyer with one of the UK’s leading house builders, based in Woking, Surrey

This is a well-established, highly regarded house builder with around 10 live sites across the Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire regions. They have a busy year ahead and are looking for a Materials Buyer to work over all live projects.

Your role as Materials Buyer will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and have assistance from an Assistant Material Buyer.

• Scheduling and ordering materials
• Placing materials and plant orders with suppliers
• Managing budgets and monitoring spend
• Working closely with site teams for call-offs
• Supporting smooth supply chain operations across live developments

• Proven experience needed as a Materials Buyer (construction/house building)
• Comfortable managing orders, suppliers, and budgets
• Good communication skills — you’ll be dealing with site teams and suppliers daily
• COINS experience is helpful but not essential (training available)
• Used to working in a hybrid role from office, sites and home

• Working for an organised and process driven business
• Experienced colleagues on site and commercially
• Stable employment and clear career path as you will be the only Materials Buyer for the region and there are plans to grow the team.
