The HSE Technician will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of Hitachi's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs on weekend 2nd shifts at the Atkins facility, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

• Conduct routine inspections of the workplace to identify and assess potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance with HSE policies.
• Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support the development and delivery of HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor and maintain HSE documentation, including permits, records, and reports.
• Participate in emergency response drills and provide first aid and emergency support as needed.
• Calibrate and maintain safety equipment, such as gas detectors and fall protection gear.
• Collaborate with site management and employees to promote a positive safety culture.
• Provide support for environmental compliance activities, including waste management and spill prevention.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Hitachi's safety standards and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff regarding HSE matters.

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on weekend 2nd shifts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
