Position: Senior Quality Control Manager (Water/Wastewater)

Senior Quality Control Manager

As a Senior Quality Control Manager, you will ensure the project is built within contract specifications, owner requirements, and all applicable building codes. You will coordinate with other trades, process daily progress reports, and adhere to all owner guidelines. As a strong communicator, you will build a transparent quality control team that delivers excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the project team to understand, plan, and implement contract drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with owner, design team, and contractors to ensure quality and timeliness of construction and completion.
  • Implement and manage the “Three Phases of Control” Quality Control Plan.
  • Oversee submittal review and approval.
  • Schedule and conduct quality control meetings (Preparatory, Initial Phase, Follow‑up).
  • Establish testing procedures in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Manage inspections, coordinate third‑party testing agents, and interface with Owner representatives.
  • Track and maintain a project deficiency log and punch list.
  • Oversee project closeout deliverables, training, and operation/maintenance documentation.
  • Confer directly with executive management.
  • Lead staff training and development; recruit and retain top industry talent.
  • Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win new work.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in construction or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years verifiable construction quality control and/or inspection experience.
  • Demonstrated initiative and personal responsibility to deliver value and excellence.
  • Track record of establishing or contributing to creative strategic solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing inspectors and submittal clerks, coordinating independent material testing, and lab work.
  • Ability to process large volumes of submittals/RFIs.
  • Prior experience developing and managing Quality Control Plans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large‑scale construction management or construction trade with increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to manage other inspectors and submittal clerks.
  • Proficiency in coordinating independent material testing and laboratory work.
  • Experience with large volumes of submittals/RFIs.
  • Previous development and management of Quality Control Plans.
Physical Requirements

Active, hands‑on role requiring frequent standing, walking on uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. Must lift and carry up to 25 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. Includes desk time in an office environment.

Work Environment

Primarily on active construction sites with varying weather, moderate to loud noise, and confined spaces. Also spend time in office settings with moderate noise. Must follow all safety policies and applicable laws.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $110,000 – $225,000, plus bonus potential and comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement/401k, life insurance, commuter benefit, short‑ and long‑term disability, fitness reimbursement, FSA, tuition reimbursement, backup childcare, tutoring & family support, EAP, holiday contribution program).
