We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and fanatic about high standards. As a CAVA Quality Assurance Technician, youwill be responsible for executing and enforcing daily quality-based tasks thatare instrumental to maintaining CAVA’s quality. Our Quality Assurance Technicians adhere toall plant GMP’s and lead others by example through following very importantFSQA behaviors. This position will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, offers limitedovertime, and requires some scheduling flexibility.
What You’ll Do:- Administers Equipment and Sensory based Quality Assurance checks(pH, temperature, titrations, inspections, taste/visual checks, verificationchecks, etc)
- Conducts ATP, Allergen and Environmental Swabbing,
- Evaluates raw materials to ensure Quality Control standards foringredients and packaging
- Observes and reviews production practices and behaviors toverify adherence to procedures
- Works closely with production staff to implement holds,corrective actions and document processes
- Assists management to develop and review SOP’s
- Manages sample submissions to outside lab and tracks results foranomalies
- Conducts quality-based training with assistance from management
- Contributes insight and feedback to management team to improveupon current processes
- Executes additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Food Safety and Quality Manager
- Assists the production department in order to meet yield demands
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry or other science preferred
- 1+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience in Quality Assurance is a plus
- Possess exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have excellent organization skills
- Must be self-driven and able to work independently to deliver results in a timely manner
- Must have familiarity with Food Safety plans
- HACCP plan experience desired
- Must be able to work in a cold environment, standing and walkingup to 75% Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
- Must be able to learn and operate basic production and sanitation equipment
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail
- Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift or carry up to 50pounds
- Must be able to roll 500 lb bowls of product
- Need to have good dexterity and possess abilities to makecritical sensory observations
- Ability to work around chemicals such as chlorine and/or othersanitizers
- Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist occasionally
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
