Job Description
This individual will perform basic seed processing and data collection duties at the Eastern Virginia AREC, located in Warsaw, Virginia. The position duties include field and lab data collection, seed processing, basic equipment operation, plot planting and harvest, grass cutting, and other agricultural research related duties. This is a grant-funded, part‑time position capped at 1,500 hours per year. Renewal each year will be dependent on availability of grant funds.
Required Qualifications- Experience with data collection in an agricultural research setting
- Experience in small plot research; plot layout & design, planting, and harvesting operations
- Experience in post-harvest data collection, including weighing plots and cleaning seed
- Experience operating zero‑turn mower
- Experience with basic tractor and farm equipment operation
- Experience using electronic forms of data collection (tablets) to collect and upload data to the cloud

Salary InformationUp to $18 per hour; commensurate with experience.
Hours per weekDependent on season and workload. Max 1,500 hours a year
