The Scientist, Analytical Development at Medicines for All Institute (M4
ALL) at Virginia Commonwealth University will advance the institute's mission to improve access to affordable medications by developing low-cost manufacturing routes for active pharmaceutical ingredients. The role involves method development and routine analytical analyses in a fast-paced environment, supporting process chemistry development while maintaining analytical instrumentation and fostering a culture of safe operations and collaboration. The position reports to the Associate Director of Analytical Development at the VA Bio+Tech Park and requires strong expertise in small molecule analysis, interdisciplinary teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
qualifications:
- BS with 8+ years, MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 0+ years in analytical chemistry
- Hands-on experience with at least one analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, SFC, MS, XRD, DSC/TGA, spectroscopy)
- Method development experience with attention to detail
- Autonomous ability to perform lab work including sample preparation, instrument maintenance, and data analysis
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet rigorous deadlines
- Passion for mission-driven work and commitment to safety with highest standards of integrity
