Job Summary

As a Research Scientist Assistant I you will work independently and with other members of the research team to complete a variety of ongoing research projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join Dr. Michael Nelson’s laboratory to conduct human subject research and day-to-day laboratory tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Research coordination: coordinate subject or patient participation as outlined in protocol and assist with research projects as assigned.
• Data collection: construct, assemble, and operate experimental or specially designed laboratory equipment.
• Data analysis:
  Interpretation of data gathered through the use of analytical and logical reasoning.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Kinesiology, Bioengineering, or a related science field or the equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in exercise physiology or kinesiology.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience or completion of a human research project.
• Data management and analysis skills.

Other Requirements

• UTA blood borne pathogen and biosafety level II Training and certification.
• CITI human research ethics certification, including good clinical practice.
