Description:

Beach Eye Care is a fast, fun, and growing company. Using the latest technology we are able to offer our patients state of the art lenses and treatments.

Candidates that are non-licensed or licensed may apply. Experience in the Optical field is preferred. We are currently interviewing Licensed and un-licensed Opticians. Customer Service skills are a must. The position floats between all of our 5 locations.

Opticians must be in touch with the current trends and fashions. Our practice has very short Saturday hours, and no Sundays. You typically work 1 late shift (ending at 7pm) a week. Saturdays are usually 1 Saturday every 3 to 4 weeks (8am-2pm) when we are fully staffed. Employees typically work 5 days a week so if you work the shift on Saturday you have a day off during the week to rest.

Sometimes we pay OT depending on staffing and the person works M-F plus the Saturday.

Compensation is hourly, competitive, and flexible with the pay range listed dependent on years of experience in the industry. Base pay really is determined by the years of experience in the Optical field and years in customer service. We have an amazing commission structure in addition to the hourly rate that has a typical range from $4 - $8 an hour.

The range that you fall in depends on your ability to educate the patient. Overall pay with commission is more than competitive market rates. We start at $15/hr plus commission if you have absolutely no experience in the Optical industry and/or you do not have any customer service experience. We are a large practice and have a full benefits package with very affordable healthcare.

We welcome applications from managers that work at Optical retail chains whether licensed or non-licensed. We have several former managers and 3 Optometrists from Americas Best currently on our team. We also have former managers from Visionworks, Pearl Vision, Walmart, For Eyes, and Lenscrafters.

Requirements:

  • Must be customer service oriented, have a strong sense of team work, and be able to resolve problems.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
  • Should be able and willing to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Must be able to create solutions to opportunities presented in the everyday work environment or new policy implementation.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed. Must be flexible to any new changes in clinic and business hours or needs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move quickly for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour plus commission which ranges from $4 to $8per hour

Supplemental pay types:

  • Commission pay

Experience:

  • Customer Service: 2 years (Required)
  • Experience in the Optical Field preferred
