Overview
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. The Bike Tech is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures, drawing from personal experiences and industry research to provide strong product recommendations that align to the customer’s needs. This position creates a world‑class customer experience by offering passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department.
The Bike Technician upholds company standards for merchandise presentation, demonstrates genuine customer interaction, promotes company programs (warranty sales, Scorecard loyalty program, private‑label credit cards, and seasonal promotions), and engages in sales of bikes and related merchandise. The role also involves building and repairing bikes, assisting with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed, maintaining merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Bike Department, adhering to policies and procedures related to safety and loss prevention, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the team across the store.
- Build and repair bicycles in accordance with established procedures.

- Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Bike Department.

- Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
- Support the team with an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach and perform other tasks as assigned by management.

- Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
Targeted Pay Range: $15.00 - $22.00. The starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
