Role Overview
Aldi is hiring an entry‑level Full‑Time Assistant Store Manager in Virginia, US. The posted salary range is $57k–$59k. This full‑time role includes overseeing daily store operations, managing staff, and ensuring overall store performance.
Responsibilities- Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
- Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Understands company strategy and models core values to foster teamwork.
- Monitor the competitive environment and inform leader of necessary adjustments.
- Provide product feedback and recommendations to the direct leader.
- Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel.
- Communicate key information including weekly updates and major milestones.
- Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies.
- Resolve operational customer concerns when the direct leader is absent.
- Identify and rectify hazards, maintain proper ergonomics and equipment upkeep.
- Maintain store cleanliness standards and signage.
- Assist in maintaining stock levels through product ordering.
- Merchandise products neatly to maximize sales.
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and accurate signage.
- Support the direct leader in achieving payroll, inventory counts, and training new employees.
- Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the team, escalating issues appropriately.
- Ensure direct reports complete assigned responsibilities timely and effectively.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to stock merchandise from receiving to shelving, and to place product weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
- 18 years or older to be employed for this role at ALDI.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to provide and lead others in delivering prompt, courteous customer service.
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication to enhance performance of direct reports.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Ability to set goals and guide employee performance to ensure quality completion of work assignments.
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others.
- Knowledge of budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses, applying management principles.
- Proficiency operating a cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to safely operate equipment including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler, and perform general cleaning duties.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, multi‑tasking, attentive to detail, and following instructions.
- Meeting state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
