Position: Full Time Vendor Receiver

Job Overview

This is a full‑time position. Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer’s needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires accurately and effectively checking in DSD vendors and maintaining all documents and copies for proper accountability.

Qualifications

Associates must be at least 18 years of age.

Personal Skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to understand and effectively use billing and accounting principles and processes.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates who only speak English.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages using American currency.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications
  • Complete company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, vendor receiving technical skills training, and Vendor Receiving Certification.
Physical Demands
  • Requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and reach from 6‑72 inches.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color, and depth perception.
Work Environment
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
Compensation
  • Pay transparency:
    Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $15.25/hour and $25.00/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.
