Job Title
District Sales Associate – Northeast United States
Location Requirement: Preferred location is the Pittsburgh, PA or Virginia (Richmond, Harrisonburg) areas, however we will consider applicants located anywhere in the Northeast region of the US.
Compensation: Base Salary of $75, plus uncapped commissions. OTE year one is $120-140k
Position Overview:
The District Sales Associate (DSA) is responsible for driving sales growth, developing ventilation system designs, and executing marketing initiatives within the assigned territory. Reporting to the District Sales Manager (DSM), this role requires a proactive, relationship-driven professional with strong technical acumen and a passion for problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry professionals to generate leads, close orders, and grow market share.
- Project Management: Actively track and manage projects from lead to close by engaging with all stakeholders through calls, emails, and on-site visits. Utilize company CRM and job tracking systems effectively.
- Territory Marketing: Identify key target markets within the district. Collaborate with the DSM and marketing team to tailor campaigns, materials, and strategies that support business development and customer retention.
- Quoting & Follow-up: Create and manage sales opportunities in Net Suite. Assist with proposal development and ensure timely follow-up to maximize close rates.
- Technical Consulting: Conduct facility visits to assess ventilation issues and propose design solutions. Coordinate with the district team to finalize system designs and proposals.
- Installer Collaboration: Partner with certified installers to conduct joint site visits and develop installation scopes and formal RFQs. Maintain open, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contractor & Dealer Relations: Develop strategic relationships with general contractors, metal building dealers, and suppliers. Leverage these networks for product promotion and project leads.
- Engineering Outreach: Promote product solutions to engineering firms by scheduling presentations and lunch-and-learn sessions. Support specification inclusion and demonstrate web-based design tools.
- On-Site Problem Solving: Provide hands-on support for resolving system issues. Prompt, in-person service is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Industrial Ventilation Sales: Engage EPCs and building contractors to develop new opportunities in the industrial ventilation market. Learn and apply estimating, design, and installation methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC or industrial sales
- Demonstrated success in consultative sales roles
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, terminology, and proposals
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to learn and explain technical design concepts
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with frequent travel (8–12 business days per month), including occasional travel outside the district
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional in all interactions
