Position Summary

The Food service Equipment Sales Executive reports to the Director – Contract Sales, is located in Landover, MD, works full‑time, and is remote within the DMV region. In this lucrative commission‑eligible role, the executive will drive revenue growth by hunting, identifying, and pursuing sales opportunities within the food service industry. The role requires a deep understanding of food service equipment, kitchen layout and operations, and the ability to provide expert consultation and tailored solutions to clients.

The sales executive will hunt, build, and maintain strong client relationships, conduct product demonstrations, and manage the sales process from initial contact to post‑sale follow‑up.

Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Provide expert consultation to clients on equipment selection, layout, and functionality.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, from initial contact to post‑sale follow‑up.
Sales Strategy And Target Achievement
  • Identify and hunt specific segments within the food service industry (e.g., new openings, renovations, expansions).
  • Build relationships with chefs, restaurant owners, and hospitality operators.
  • Develop targeted cold‑calling and emailing campaigns.
  • Conduct on‑site visits to potential clients to assess their needs and offer personalized solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking.
Pipeline Management
  • Maintain a well‑organized and updated sales pipeline.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, providing regular updates to the management team.
  • Utilize technology tools to manage leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
Competencies
  • Strong understanding of the features, benefits, and technical specifications of various food service equipment.
  • Proven ability to identify, hunt, qualify, and close sales, including strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to understand and meet the needs of clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and market conditions.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams to achieve common goals.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong understanding of the food service industry, including restaurant operations, kitchen layouts, and equipment functionality.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, preferably in the food service or related industry.
  • Exceptional hunting skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, fostering long‑term relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage sales pipelines, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Understanding and interpretation of technical specifications, blueprints, and installation requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent military or practical experience.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range based on geographic location and other factors considered in extending an offer, such as responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, applicable agreements, and legal requirements.
